About

We are glad that you stopped by our website to learn more about the local fellowship of believers that gather at Antioch. If you are new to our church, here are several things that make us unique:

First and foremost, we exist to glorify Jesus. Jesus has saved us from our sins and given us a new life. All that we do is in gratitude for His grace. Every song, every service, and every ministry is all about Jesus. We long for the day that we will be able to bow around His throne and praise His name forever. Our desire is to begin that eternal praise while we gather on this earth.

Secondly, we love God’s Word. We believe that God’s Word is without error in every area to which it speaks including, science and history. But more importantly, we believe that the Bible is sufficient for all of life. In other words, we believe that God has spelled out clearly, in His Word, all that He desires of us, our families, our church, and our nation. We believe in completely conforming every aspect of our lives to God’s will as revealed in the Bible. As such, our services center around the expositional preaching of God’s Word.

Thirdly, we believe in equipping men and women for service. We believe that God created men to lead in the home, the church and society. We constantly emphasize the need for men to step up to the plate and assume the responsibilities that God has given him. We also believe that women were created to bring glory to God by supporting and helping the man in the task God has given him. We believe in equipping women to become all that God has in store for them. We believe that every believer has been gifted by the Holy Spirit for ministry and it is the job of the elders and teachers to equip men and women for ministry.

Lastly, we promote family discipleship so that our faith will stand the test of time. We believe that God is to be worshiped in our homes and that it is the duty of the parents, primarily the father, to disciple their children. We seek to build godly marriages and families so that our children will walk closely with the Lord. It is our desire to begin a work that our children and grandchildren will carry on. In order for this to happen, we must equip parents with everything they need to disciple their children and worship God as a family.

Thank you for visiting our site. We hope that you find all that you need in our LORD Jesus. To God be the glory!

Doctrine & Beliefs

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is entirely without error and it is entirely true in all areas to which it speaks, including science and history. As such, we believe that all of our doctrine and practice should come directly from the Bible. We are Protestant and affirm the Five Sola’s of the Reformation: Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone): The Scripture is the only rule of faith and practice. Sola Fide (Faith Alone): Salvation is…

History & Identity

For more information, listen to The Founding of Antioch and The History of Antioch by Pastor Daniel Kendall. Antioch Baptist Church was founded on June 29, 1872, at the request of several Missionary Baptist men and women. On Sunday, June 30, 1872, the first worship service was held by Elders John O. Kelly, Abraham Crosby, John A. F. McKinney and Uriah Roberts. From the beginning, the church was characterized by a simple following of Scripture. Church discipline was a regular practice and it…

Leadership & Staff

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, and that no individual man should seek to mold the church in his own image. In light of this, our church is led by Elders (qualified, mature men) who seek to discern the Lord’s will for our church. The Elders oversee the worship services, ministries, and direction of the church keeping a special watch out for each member’s soul. Because every believer is indwelt by the Spirit of Jesus, the Elders…
